Face-lifting a beauty from a bygone era

Most of us will recognise the name “The Grace Hotel” – an iconic boutique hotel that has offered luxurious and elegant accommodation and cuisine to travellers for many a decade.

The Grace was recently purchased by hotel and gaming group Tsogo Sun, who saw the potential to give a facelift to a beautiful yet dated hotel in the central suburb of Rosebank.

I was one of the privileged few to be invited to the exclusive preview of the hotel, still in the renovation stages. Being a construction site, we were issued with hard hats for safety, and taken through some of the completed and planned changes for the hotel.

I followed Norman Wallace, Operations Director of the Lux Group, as he took us through the design and décor angle for the rooms in the hotel.
